How It Works Why CheckTeller FAQ Create payment link

Legal

Terms of Use

Effective September 8, 2026

1. Agreement.

These Terms govern access to CheckTeller and its check-request and check-generation services. By creating a request, opening a payment link, authorizing a check, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not use CheckTeller.

2. Eligibility and territory.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. The beta is intended for lawful transactions involving U.S. sellers, eligible U.S. checking accounts, and U.S. dollars. You may use an account only when you are the account holder or have authority to issue a check from it.

3. What CheckTeller does.

A seller creates a request with a fixed payee and amount. A customer may enter checking-account details and electronically authorize one remotely created check. CheckTeller records the authorization, generates a printable check, and provides the seller a secure link to it.

4. What CheckTeller does not do.

CheckTeller is not a bank, payment processor, money transmitter, lender, escrow service, or custodian. We do not electronically debit an account, hold or transmit funds, settle the transaction, verify account ownership or balances, guarantee authorization, guarantee a bank will accept the check, or guarantee the check will clear. Funds move only through the banking system if the seller deposits the printed check and the banks process it.

5. Seller responsibilities.

A seller must provide an accurate receiving-account name and email, use CheckTeller only for an existing agreed transaction, send the payment link only to the intended customer, protect private links, review the generated check, follow the seller’s bank instructions, and wait for confirmed clearing before treating the payment as final or delivering irreversible value. A seller is responsible for refunds, disputes, taxes, invoices, underlying goods or services, and customer support.

6. Customer authorization.

By selecting the authorization checkbox and clicking Authorize and send check, the customer electronically signs the displayed transaction-specific authorization and authorizes one remotely created check for the exact payee and amount shown. The customer represents that all information is accurate and that the customer is authorized to issue the check from the account. A payment link may create only one check.

7. Printing and deposit.

Banks may apply their own paper, ink, MICR, image-quality, fraud-review, deposit-channel, funds-availability, return, or stop-payment rules. Print at 100% scale with fit or shrink disabled. Blank check stock and MICR-capable printing provide the strongest compatibility. Branch or ATM deposit is recommended; mobile deposit depends on the bank.

8. Acceptable use.

You may not use CheckTeller for telemarketing transactions, unauthorized checks, fraud, impersonation, phishing, money laundering, sanctions evasion, unlawful debt collection, illegal goods or services, malware, interference, credential testing, or any activity that violates law or another person’s rights. You may not probe, scrape, reverse engineer, bypass rate limits, or attempt to access another user’s request or check.

9. Privacy and security.

Our Privacy Notice explains the information we process. You must not send full bank-account information to support by email. No Internet service is risk-free, and you are responsible for protecting links and devices under your control.

10. Beta fees.

The V1 beta is offered without CheckTeller subscription or transaction fees. Your bank, printer, Internet provider, or other service provider may charge separate fees. We may introduce fees only prospectively with clear notice; a future fee cannot alter an already-created request without explicit agreement.

11. Availability and changes.

The beta may be interrupted for maintenance, security, provider outages, abuse prevention, or circumstances outside our control. We may improve or discontinue features prospectively while preserving records needed for authorization, security, and legal obligations.

12. Suspension.

We may refuse, restrict, or suspend access when we reasonably believe use is unlawful, unauthorized, abusive, insecure, or harmful. We may preserve relevant records and cooperate with lawful requests.

13. Intellectual property.

CheckTeller’s software, branding, design, and documentation are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant only a limited, revocable right to use the service for its intended lawful purpose. Users retain rights in their underlying transaction information while granting CheckTeller permission to process it to operate, secure, and support the service.

14. Disclaimers.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” CheckTeller disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, uninterrupted availability, bank acceptance, and successful clearing. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty that cannot legally be excluded.

15. Limitation of liability.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CheckTeller will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits or data; a returned, stopped, altered, disputed, delayed, or rejected check; a bank’s action; or an underlying transaction. Where liability cannot be excluded, aggregate liability relating to the beta will not exceed the greater of fees the claimant paid CheckTeller for the affected request or US $100. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.

16. Indemnity.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify CheckTeller from claims and costs arising from your unlawful or unauthorized use, your underlying transaction, information you provide, or your violation of these Terms or another person’s rights.

17. Updates.

We may update these Terms prospectively. We will publish the effective date and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice on the service. The authorization language pinned to an existing request does not change retroactively.

18. Contact.

Questions about these Terms may be sent to info@checkteller.com. Do not include full bank-account information.
