1. Scope.
This Notice explains how CheckTeller processes information when a seller creates a request, a customer authorizes a remotely created check, an administrator operates the service, or someone visits the website.
2. Information we collect.
We collect seller name, seller email, requested amount, optional memo, consent records, customer account name, routing number, account number, the exact authorization and its timestamp, IP address, user-agent/browser, request and check identifiers, generated check files, email-delivery records, security events, and communications sent to support. We do not ask customers to create an account or connect online-banking credentials.
3. How we use information.
We use information to create and protect payment links; validate routing information; record authorization; generate, store, and deliver the check; prevent duplicate checks, fraud, and abuse; send operational email; diagnose errors; understand aggregate public-site and funnel usage; administer the service; comply with law; and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. We do not use full account numbers for advertising or analytics.
4. Routing lookup.
We may send the routing number—not the account number, name, amount, memo, or authorization—to a routing-information provider to return bank name and location. We cache that bank-directory result for reliability and rate-limit management.
5. Service providers and disclosures.
We disclose information only as needed to infrastructure hosting, email delivery, routing-directory, limited Google Analytics measurement on token-free public pages, security, professional-adviser, and lawful-process recipients. Google may process device, browser, approximate location, and public-page interaction data under its own service terms. Providers may process information where they operate and must be limited by contract or applicable duties. We may disclose information to protect users, investigate abuse, or comply with a valid legal obligation. We do not sell personal information or use third-party behavioral advertising in V1.
6. Security.
We encrypt account numbers and generated check files at rest, use TLS in transit, hash access tokens, restrict administrative access, mask account numbers in normal displays, and avoid full account numbers in ordinary logs and email. No security measure eliminates all risk. Protect payment and seller-view links as sensitive documents.
7. Retention.
Accepted authorizations, request records, instrument metadata, encrypted check files, and integrity events are retained for the life of the service and as needed for legal claims, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. Email records are retained with the transaction. Routing-directory entries may be refreshed. Short-lived session, rate-limit, and transient sanitized error data may be deleted on shorter operational schedules.
8. Cookies and analytics.
CheckTeller uses essential cookies needed for security, CSRF protection, form continuity, and administrator sessions. Google Analytics may set measurement cookies on token-free public marketing, legal, and request-form pages. We configure it without advertising personalization or Google Signals and send only normalized public page locations and non-sensitive interaction names. Google Analytics is not loaded on payment-token, result-token, seller-check, PDF, or administrator pages, and CheckTeller does not send names, email addresses, amounts, bank details, account details, check numbers, or private tokens to analytics.
9. Your choices and requests.
You may contact us to ask about access, correction, or deletion of personal information. We will verify the request and respond as applicable law requires. Some records cannot be changed or deleted when they are necessary to preserve authorization evidence, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or legal claims. A request does not cancel or reverse a check in the banking system.
10. Children.
CheckTeller is not intended for people under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Contact us if you believe a minor submitted information.
11. Changes.
We may update this Notice as the service or law changes. The effective date identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated reasonably on the service.
12. Contact.
Privacy questions and requests may be sent to info@checkteller.com. Do not send full routing or account numbers by email.
